Prisma – Objective and Policy

Prisma is a Non-Governmental Organization supporting small-scale projects in developing countries. The aim is to direct contact local people and organizations in order to get a good impression of the progress of the projects. Prisma was founded 1979 and now has about 25 members.

The aim of Prisma is to support small-scale projects that:

  • are capable of being self-supporting in the end,
  • might have a “spin-off” effect,
  • enable Prisma to maintain contact,
  • have a delimited and clear character,
  • do not require annual or repeatedly financing, like for example rent and salaries.

Prisma aims at active involvement of its members at the projects. For this reason members are regularly informed about the progress of the projects and developments within the organization. This is done by means of a leaflet sent to all members prior to each board meeting. The board meetings are held on average once per quarter and are open to all members. The meetings are also an occasion to present and discuss new project proposals.

Each member supports Prisma with a monthly fee, the payment of which is fixed for a certain period on a voluntary basis.
Sympathizers can donate a one-time gift at IBAN account NL63INGB0004142726 by the name of Prisma Enschede, The Netherlands (BIC: INGBNL2A, name of the bank: ING Bank NV).
